“You can talk with someone for years, everyday, and still, it won’t mean as much as what you can have when you sit in front of someone, not saying a word, yet you feel that person with your heart, you feel like you have known the person for forever…. connections are made with the heart, not the tongue.”

Paul Laurence…

27 Jul

Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872-1906)
We Wear the Mask

WE wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.

We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

Tear Drops

Tear Drops

The human spirit
Some say after every storm comes calmness
for every laughter come tears,
for every struggle come reasons
What will make us laugh out loud today, and bring us to our knees in sorrow tomorrow?
We’ll never know

What we do know is that there, is a light that shines on the human spirit
and our ability to endure…….
The strength and courage we have inside each and every one of us to Face tomorrow……

No matter how great the laughter
No matter how plentiful the tears
We will weather the storm, and look forward
To anew

Must I be your beating stick?
When anger is choking you
Tell me, why must you quench your thirst by abusing me?
But yet you,
Beat and beat, and beat me
Till your pain has disappeared, and you beat me when it reappears
I kept in silent
Cause you know not what occurs in my eyes
When anger is near

we’ve been through so many things, but I am not holding onto my relationship with Calvin because of our history. We genuinely love each other. Somehow our individual accomplishment has made us so independent, that we’re force to go through this phase, ”pretending as if we don’t need each other.”

“When some loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.”——–Jess C. Scott

follow your heart

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drowned your own inner voice. And most important have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary!”——Steve Jobs

You heard me crying out loud
pretending not to see me hurt
while you cover up your dirt
But, yet something inside of me won’t let you get that close
Trying to touch my soul
I will only allow you to see me when i’m fierce
To you I appear to be a supernatural being
My sensitivity is kept in a cage holding all the pain
That you can’t see

Patience is bitter but its fruit are sweet. Sometimes, the time we spend realizing our true purpose and actually seeing it come alive in from of us can seem like an eternity. But it is only when we keep going when the going gets hard and never slow down our dreams will begin to manifest. It will reveal itself to us and naturally becomes apart of who we are. Patience is the most necessary qualification one need to accomplish his or her goals, or to succeed in any relationship and see it blossom. The race is long and hard and at times draining to ones body and soul. The happiness and beauty that lies at the finish line will make all the trials and frustration seem like a pinch and as transparent as night and day!

Battle of the bulge

The biggest wardroe mulfunction for any women is their belly, it’s certainly mines, and i have been battling it for years. My biggest problem is being consistant. keeping a regulary excercise rountine and sticky to it long enough to see the changes i need to better my health. When i was in my early twenties losing weight for me was all about looking good. Now that i’m a short step away from turning thirty its all about being health. Keeping fit so that i’ll be able to enjoy life more and being able to keep up as best as i possible can. The older we get the more our body changes and sometimes we can slow it down sooner than it should. excersing alone will not keep us as healthy as we should be, we also have to change the way we eat by incorporating alot more vegetables in our diet. for example week one you start off with ten jumping jacks and by week two add another ten and so on. start eating  meals that consist of a portion of veggies, and little by little cut back on your carbs. start walking before you think about running. These step seem so easy and they actually are, and one of the best way to get long lasting results.
